How it Works

  • Visit 3 or more of the bookstores on our map on April 29th. To enter the drawing for the grand prize, you must include at least 3 sponsoring bookstores in your crawl. They’re clearly marked on the map and are listed on our website.

  • Complete each store’s designated scavenger hunt task and post a picture on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Be sure to use the #atxbookstorecrawl hashtag and tag the store’s account! Tasks will be announced on this website on Friday, April 28th. You can find them here.

  • Browse the store! We’re here to get to know Austin’s independent bookstores, after all.

  • To enter to win the grand prize, you need to send screenshots of your social media posts to atxbookstorecrawl@gmail.com. These screenshots ensure that you posted on your social media accounts, tagged the independent bookstore (if available), and found your 3 scavenger items. For every 3 bookstores you visit, you are entered once to win the Grand Prize. 6 store visits equates to 2 entries, 9 visits to 3 entries, and so on. If you visit all 14 participating bookstores, you will be entered 5 times to win the Grand Prize.

  • We will email the winner of the Grand Prize on Monday, May 1. Be sure to check your inboxes on that day! Only emails sent the morning of April 29th through the following day will be valid. If you are the lucky winner, you will have 24 hours to respond and claim your prize. If you don’t respond within 24 hours we will draw a new winner.
